It’s about time The Incredibles 2’s trailer dropped. After much hype spanning years, everyone’s equally excited about the newest trailer. And perhaps owing to the fact that it’s just a teaser, it does appear to be a bit underwhelming.
At this point, we’re all hoping the sequel to the much beloved The Incredibles is, for lack of a better term, a good film; unlike Finding Dory, which managed to be subpar at best and completely reliant on the emotional center and humor of the first film.

Ideally The Incredibles 2 should be able to maintain the wit and maturity of the first film, and add new characters as well. And please, for the love of all things pure, utilize Edna Mode, the brave fierce woman that designed the superhero outfits from the first film. Her presence would be welcomed seeing as she’s become a fan favorite over time. The continuation of the infamous gag “where is my super suit?” from the first Incredibles would be a nice touch too.
The teaser doesn’t give much of anything away other than the fact that the Parrs are probably going to have a tougher time raising Jack Jack than they previously thought. Even with the underwhelming feature that was Finding Dory and others like Cars 2, the fact that this is Pixar we’re talking about gives me hope. Despite the fact that Pixar’s golden era, their peak performance, was long ago with hits like Toy Story, The Incredibles, Finding Nemo and Up, and none of their newer material has managed to come anywhere near those in terms of quality, I’m going to enter 2018 with a smile on my face, if for nothing else than the fact that after years of waiting, I’ll finally get to see what the Incredibles are up to.
