Maan Jao Na looks like a mishmash of Bollywood films, mimicking much of the colorful art design and choreography characteristic of the Indian film industry. The trailer is reminiscent of the first few minutes of Balam Pichkari, while having none of the infectious fun inherent in that song.
The actors look appropriate enough for their roles, dumbing themselves down because obviously Maan Jao Na is a fun colorful movie! God forbid there’s an inspired plot or intelligent characters. This trailer doesn’t herald them into the film and, despite what looks like genuinely good cinematography, it will probably fall into the generic cookie cutter formula.

In fact, the pleasing-to-the-eye detail is just another testament to the fact that the audience is expected to oooh and aaah at all the right moments, just in time for the pretty girl to bust a move or for the colors to fly around in all their pepto bismol glory. It’s not that they look tacky. On the contrary, the colors exceptionally stand out in this trailer. My concern is that they will be the only thing remarkable about this movie, a thankless feat for the cinematographer if the entire rest of the movie is as bland and uninspired as it seems to be.
Frolic is great if there’s a dose of originality and purpose inherent in it. Maan Jao Na looks like the kind of movie that doesn’t have much else to offer, and the fun is limited to terribly thought out physical comedy and nonsensical one liners. One scene shows four people holding onto the balcony for dear life, and then falling. Hilarity ensues. Har-har-har!

Maan Jao Na won’t be released for another month or so. Maybe it’s too soon to start tearing it apart. Who knows? Maybe it will actually be a fresh new film with bold exciting colors, a well thought out plot and an inspiring theme! Or maybe not…
Maan Jao Naa is releasing on 2nd Feb 2018 in all over in Pakistan.
